The app economy and software development are among the fastest-growing job sectors in America, and we’re thrilled to be providing educators and students with the tools to learn coding.

Cook said, the benefit of Apple’s App Development Curriculum is that if you look at the 2 million Jobs we’ve created in the economy, about three-quarters of those, give or take are in app development. That part of the economy has really grown leaps and bounds since the introduction of the App Store in 2008.

According to Apple, over 1 million downloads of Swift Playgrounds and 430,000 downloads of the K-12 Everyone Can Code curriculum. Over 1,000 schools will use Apple’s Everyone Can Code teaching materials in lessons this fall.
