Facebook launches Messenger Kids app

Social media giant Facebook launches a privacy focused messaging app, Messenger Kids, to overcome child threats. The app can be managed by a parents Facebook account.

Nowadays, parents are freely allowing their children to use gadgets, and in some children have own gadgets. So, every parent worry about how they are using, and which apps are suitable. For them, Facebook introducing this app after discussing with thousands of parents.

According to Facebook, we bring this messaging app that lets kids connect with people they love but also has the level of control parents want. Along with parents, Facebook also discussing with child development organizations for which priorities taking under to build this app for kids.

Facebook adding lot of features in the new app for kids to connect with the people. In the new app, the home screen shows who they are interested to talk, and when those contacts are online. Kids can also send their photos, videos in video chat to their approved contacts, who will receive the messages through their regular Messenger app.

Also have some specially chosen GIFs, frames, stickers, masks and drawing tools for brighten their content and also explicit their character.

However, kids can’t connect with their contacts until their parent approval. With this app, parents control their kids contacts through the Messenger Kids Controls panel in their main Facebook app. This kids app now available on iOS in the U.S.

How to generate account

First of all, the account should set up by a parent, and download the app on your child’s apple devices from the App Store. Then, verify your child’s device using your own Facebook account.

Then after generates your child account, where you’ll need to specify their name. While adding people to your child’s contact list, go to the Messenger Kids parental controls panel in your Facebook app.

There are no ads in this app, also no in-app purchases. The app designed to be flexible with the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA).

Facebook plans to release this new app in Amazon App Store and Google Play Store in the coming months.
