Google’s budget smartphone ecosystem program moves a step towards the success. At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona, the tech giant unveils the first set of Google low budget smartphone running Android Oreo.

Senior Vice President of Google’s Platforms & Ecosystems, Hiroshi Lockheimer, said, Android Oreo or Android Go is a trimmed down version of Android 8.1 Oreo aimed at low-cost smartphones.

While, the low-cost smartphones come 512MB RAM and has access to a slew of apps designed for low-bandwidth. Additionally, Google Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, YouTube Go, Google Assistant Go, and Files Go. The handsets priced less than $50.

Google has also expressed some new Android One smartphone will present next week. The latest Android One handsets can hope to see quicker access to Android OS updates for two years. Also, the latest AI advancements get regular security updates for 3 years and inbuilt Google Play Protect, more streamlined interface.

Google Rich Communication Services

Google also announced Rich Communication Services (RCS) platform. The service helps that consumers and firms can connect directly. RCS is a carrier-based messaging that would replace SMS and MMS with group chats bringing high-resolution photo sharing, and more to all Android users.

Google partnering with telecom companies for RCS, including HMD Global, Micromax, Motorola, and more. Google needs to keep conveying RCS messaging to more businesses in more regions.

Some reports say, Google expected to provide a major push to its AR efforts on Android by unleashing ARCore at the event.

The company plans to release the v1.0 of ARCore on the Play Store. It hopes to available on 100 million Android handsets by March 2018.
