AMD 2nd generation Ryzen desktop processors
At last, AMD has introduced its 2nd generation Ryzen desktop processors and brings four models. The four models, include two eight-core models with 16 threads and two six-core models with 12 threads.
AMD stated, the announcement comes a year after the first-generation Ryzen chip line-up released and now all models are big upgrades from the first-gen models and feature its advanced “SenseMI technology.
AMD Ryzen 2nd gen processors feature new X470 chipset, is the most advanced, optimized, and efficient chipset to-date for socket AM4. The chipset designed to support the increased clock speeds supported by the second-generation Ryzen line-up.
The processors come with new motherboards from manufacturers, such as ASUS, MSI, ASRock and Gigabyte outfitted with the X470 chipsets.
AMD also ships its AMD Ryzen second gen processors with Wraith coolers included. The Ryzen 7 will accompany the new Wraith Prism cooler for preferred cooling capacities over the Wraith Max.
All AMD Ryzen 2nd gen processor models fabricated by using a 12-nanometer fab processor, which is a slight change from the 14-nanometer processor used for their predecessors.
The chips will begin shipping on April 19. The most elevated end Ryzen 7 processors will sell for $329, while the Ryzen 7 2700 price at $299. The second-gen Ryzen 7 2700X features boosts up to 4.3GHz with a base speed of 2.7GHz, both are faster clock speeds than its predecessor.
The new Wraith Prism cooler also features RGB lighting. The Ryzen 7 2700’s clock speeds are a huge jump from the first-generation model, as the lift goes up to 4.1GHz on a 3.2GHz base.
The Ryzen 5 2600X will offer for $229, while the least end Ryzen 5 2600 priced at $199. Both Ryzen 5 2nd gen processors feature higher clock speeds with 2600X boosting up to 4.2GHz off a 3.6GHz base. The Ryzen 5 2600 offer a 3.9GHz boost with a base of 3.4GHz.
More information will get on April 19. Meanwhile, if you have been waiting, you can now pre-order from Amazon.
