Alfa Romeo announces upcoming supercar
Italian car manufacturer, Alfa Romeo announces an upcoming supercar that could go up against the likes of Ferrari, McLaren, and Porsche.
The upcoming 8C super car will run on a turbo-charged mid-engine, using an all-wheel-drive electric drive system. The total output will equal at least 700 horsepower with a zero- to 60-miles-per-hour sprint time of less than 3 seconds.
The Fiat-owned brand will also launch more SUVs and other specialty model as well: a Giulia-based coupe called the GTV.
A year ago, the Giulia and Stelvio SUV received good response among consumers and also critics. While, the brand will continue creating new models to compete with Porsche’s top selling Macan or Jaguar’s excellent-value F-Pace.
8C super car
The brand had already implied it may deliver a super car by the end of 2018. After all things considered, the company must create a halo car.
The modern 8C takes its name from the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, a sports car created from 2007 to 2010 out of appreciation for the eight-cylinder engine (8C) and Alfa Romeo’s racing family.
A representative from the brand declines to give more specifics about the future 8C, except to say that by 2022, sports cars and supercars will make up 5 percent of Alfa’s global sales.
The cost of super car estimated at around $300,000, and only 500 roadsters constructed around the world. Only 90 items made it to our shores. In this way, it wasn’t really an arrival because the clear majority couldn’t claim them.
Timothy kuniskis, Head of Alfa Romeo, said, the company produces something more exciting than just another SUV.
