Sony announces Tetris Effect for PS4 and PSVR

Tetris, the most recognizable game brands in the gaming market. Since its debut, the series has sold more than 170 million copies. Now, Sony announced Tetris Effect. The new version of the Tetris is coming to PS4 and PSVR this fall.

Sony PlayStation stated that, the idea behind Tetris Effect is to amplify and enhance the same magical feeling where you just can’t get it out of your head, and not just the falling shapes, but all the visuals, the sounds, the music everything.

Tetris Effect features

While, the Tetris new version designed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the designer behind puzzle titles Rez Infinite and Luminous. The game features an extreme soundtrack and unbelievably flashy graphical flairs and imagery. It also has PSVR feature, means it can play normally with the PSVR headset. Tetris Effect runs at 4K in 60fps on the PS4 Pro and is available in full HD on the PS4.

Tetris Effect has 30 completely different stages and each with their own Tetrimino blocks, clear effects, music, and sounds that reacts and evolves based on how you play.

A few mainstream gameplay modes are available on new version, including marathon mode, ultra, and sprint. One new element is the “zone” mechanic, where players can stop time by entering the Zone. The Zone will enable players to escape a Game Over situation extra line clears for extra rewards. Other gameplay modes also arranged and will uncover later.

However, the new version will playable at E3 this year, with the possibility of a demo coming later in the year. The game is expected to come this fall on the PlayStation 4.
