Recently, the photo-sharing app Instagram is celebrating its 10th birthday by adding new features that help users find old stories that have been posted by them. One of the best Instagram features aims to reduce abuse, which you will read ahead.

The anti-bullying features tie into the National Bullying prevention month. There are two new Instagram features rolling out. The first feature hides the comments on the photo-sharing app that believes just like ones previously known as abusive. If a user taps View hidden comments, then these comments can be seen.

Additionally, Instagram also planning two rolls out new warnings for people who post comments repeatedly flagged as abusive. And encouraging them to think before they hit the send button.

What else has revealed by Instagram?

Besides launching several new features, Instagram, on its 10th birthday, including a private story map offering a retrospective of the stories that have been shared by the user in the past. Additionally, there is also a selection of custom app icons for those who have inspired recently to revamp their homescreen as it is a new trend.

Recently, we had learned that the icons had spotted earlier in the growth within the codes of Instagram, and it expected they would a part of a birthday release on a large scale. Instagram users across both iOs and Android devices can opt between ranges of icons in hues of orange within the update.

Also, there a rainbow-colored pride icon and many versions of typical icons provided you want a nostalgic feel. Under the new Instagram features, the stories Map feature added which tends to introduce a private map and calendar of the Instagram stories you have shared over the past few years. The main aim of this feature is to help users to look back at their favorite moments.

What is the map stories feature?

It may be surprising for many users who thought Instagram stories are temporary in nature by that it was meant that they were deleted overtime from Facebook. But you need to know that it is not the first time Instagram has got up the old stories to build out a new feature.

For example, in 2017, Instagram had added a feature of story highlights that allowed users to create a permanent home for some users of their ephemeral content formerly. Out of the two new features, the first feature will begin as a test which will hide the comments automatically similarly to others that have been reported.

If you want to see what’s been removed hidden from the main comment feed, then these comments will be available under the label “view hidden comments.”

All you need to know about the new Instagram Features

The new feature somewhat similar to Twitter’s Hiding replies feature that was launched last year globally. The feature will place the inappropriate or abusive remarks behind an extra click like Twitter, which helps to discretize this type of content as it could be hidden from the view.

The original poster had to hide the replies except in Twitter’s case, manually. The Instagram feature is, however, attempting to automate the functionality. Additionally, Instagram provides an AI-powered feature that tells people when their comments might be considered offensive by providing them a chance to think and make changes before posting any comment.

This feature mainly aims to target repeat offenders, which suggests that they take a moment to step back and reflect on their comments and consequences that might take place. Additionally, the company has also released new data trends across several platforms and an editorial look back at Instagram’s significant milestones.
