Here are the details of Anker’s MagSafe-Compatible battery

This Anker MagSafe compatible battery comes with a stylish design which makes it unique compared to traditional power banks. This can be attached to the back of iPhone devices and it acts as a portable wireless charger. Anker explains this MagSafe Compatible battery as follows.

Snap and Go, This compatible battery offers simple and convenient wireless charging. You need to just attach the PowerCore magnetically to the back of your phone and watch the charging power flow. Made for iPhone 12, This MagSafe compatible battery from Anker specially designed for iPhone users. It works flawlessly with iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. You can charge all these devices with compatible magnetic cases.

This MagSafe compatible battery features a 5,000mAh battery and Anker’s typical power bank design. It also includes an LED indicator light which lets you know how much power left in the device. In addition to this, this device comes with USB-C output for charging with a cable as well. An extra 5,000mAh is a thoughtful improvement, especially for the smaller iPhone 12 mini. However, it is limited by the device’s lack of MagSafe certification.

These MagSafe certified devices like Apple’s own charger can charge the iPhone at 15W. And the power core magnetic 5K wireless power bank comes with slower 5W charging. However, this device magnets can let it stick where other MagSafe accessories go. But the PowerCore fails in offering the same benefits as MagSafe.

Based on reports, Apple developing MagSafe Battery

Based on Bloomberg reports, Apple is also working on a MagSafe compatible battery way before Anker’s new device. Apple, developing a new iPhone charging device in the form of a battery pack. Which can magnetically attached to the rear of the device using Magsafe. As a result, some prototypes came with a rubber exterior. Though the battery can’t function as a protective case like previous iPhone battery accessories from Apple.

Apart from this MagSafe compatible battery case, Bloomberg also informs that the iPhone lineup may not receive support for reverse wireless charging anytime soon.

In Internal testing, The MagSafe attachment system proved strong enough for the charging unit to stay in place. But Magsafe battery development has been slowed because of some software issues like the iPhone indicating that the pack is overheating. Also, Apple is working on solving issues that are related to customers switching between using the device on an iPhone sometimes with and without a case.

With all this in mind, The MagSafe battery development may ultimately get delayed or abandoned based on reports. If Apple succeeds with it, then this Magsafe Battery could be a popular accessory for Apple’s new MagSafe ecosystem. However, last year Apple came up with cases that have MagSafe compatibility, leather wallets, and a pair of chargers.

Other details

The company is also planning for other MagSafe accessories internally. Along with the potential for an in-car attachment. But one of the spokespeople informed that the product didn’t even make its way into formal development.

Rumors suggest that Apple’s MagSafe technology may make its way to several more products in the upcoming years. The company plans to include it in redesigned MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs coming this year.
