Previously Instagram introduced the Reels feature which looks very similar to the Chinese short-form video app TikTok. Using this feature users can create and discover short entertaining videos on Instagram. Going one step further in duplicating the TikTok video app, Instagram launches the Remix Reels feature which is inspired by the TikTok Duet feature.

This newly launched Remix Reels feature on Instagram allows users to record their own video next to another user’s video. Initially, we have witnessed the same feature in TikTok. Which was very popular among dancers and creators who share music videos.

TikTok has received an enormous following and user base in a very short time but later it banned by the government. After that many social media platforms have decided to take advantage of this situation and started implementing their own version of TikTok similar apps and features. Whereas, Instagram has introduced reels with a similar feature but did not introduce any standalone app.

Instagram Remix Reels feature will only for new reels. They automatically get this Remix Reels feature. If you want to add this Remix Reels feature to your old videos, you can manually turn that on it. For that tap on the three-dot menu on your own video and select Enable Remixing. But you don’t want to turn off remixing on all your reels. Then you can do that using the broader profile settings.

Instagram UI will feature the recorded Reel on the right corner and your own recording video will be placed on the left side. Once everything set, click on the record button to start recording your Remix. Along with that, you can edit your video by adding effects, filters and increasing the pace. Instagram launches Remix Reels and its “Recently Deleted” feature to make its Reels feature more user-friendly. This Recently deleted feature will let users access and recover their recently deleted posts, IGTV videos, and Instagram reels. Instagram in its blog clearly mentioned why it finds this new Recently Deleted feature important.

Previously, Instagram identified that some hackers are deleting posts of the accounts they acquire for no reason. Addressing this, Instagram comes up with an additional level of verification formality that the users need to go through before deleting their posts to ensure safety. In case if they have deleted the post but want to undo it. Then they can do that with the “Recently Deleted” feature. Along with that Instagram’s newly launched Remix Reels will make this feature more fun at the same time secure.
